The tourist destination Islantilla, shared by the municipalities of Isla Cristina and Lepe, has renewed again this year its Blue Flag and Blue Flag badges, positioning itself among the 80 beaches of Andalusia awarded with this certificate. It thus consolidates its commitment to this seal of quality, whose renewal it has obtained regularly since 1993, being one of the destinations with the most tradition in obtaining and maintaining this quality mark in Huelva province.
Managed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE-ADEAC), this award recognizes the environmental quality and sustainable use of the environment of this beach, and on the coast of Huelva this year will wave, in addition to Islantilla, in the San Miguel Beach (Cartaya) and in the Playa de Castilla or the Parador de Mazagón (Moguer).
The President of the Commonwealth of Islantilla and Mayor of Isla Cristina, Montserrat Márquez, has "positively recognized the effort made by this entity and its workers to maintain a distinctive international prestige that is added to other stamps also renewed annually for our destiny. "
The Islantilla Beach boasts, in addition to the Blue Flag, other distinctions such as the Q of Tourist Quality or the Flag of EcoPlayas. Islantilla has also been a pioneer destination in the development of the Comprehensive Destination Quality System Project (SICTED) in the province of Huelva, to which other municipalities have subsequently joined through the Consorcio de Turismo Sostenible Costa Occidental de Huelva.
In addition, Islantilla has another year's pride in showing not only the Blue Flag to the quality of its beach, but also the distinctive Blue Trail awarded to the Parque de los Cabezos de Islantilla route for the excellent conservation of the natural environment in which it is located. finds located. This distinctive consolidates Islantilla as a paradise for lovers of active tourism and nature, being the only destination in Huelva recognized in 2019 with this seal.
The conservation of its rich natural environment is one of the main resources of this destination, which is located between two Natural Sites of enormous ecological value: the Marismas of Isla Cristina and the Marismas del Río Piedras and Flecha de Nueva Umbría.
To this we must add that the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC) has awarded the marinas of Isla Cristina and El Terrón for their environmental management and the quality of their waters and services, recognition that serves as a complement to the offer of quality leisure of this destination.
