
The Hotel Ilunion Islantilla has hosted this morning the days of empowerment 'Laboratory of ideas on employment, accessibility and participation of young people with disabilities' organized by the Provincial Federation of Associations of People with Physical and Organizational Disability in Seville (FAMS-COCEMFE Sevilla) , and that will bring together some thirty young people between 18 and 30 years with the aim of addressing the barriers faced by this group in the workplace, training, etc .. as well as possible proposals that generate employment or self-employment.
The conference, which will be closed tomorrow, has begun with an opening ceremony in which the President of the Commonwealth of Islantilla and Mayor of Isla Cristina, Montserrat Márquez, who has welcomed the attendees accompanied by the Managing Director of the Federation, Pedro José Fernández Pérez, as well as the Chief of the Employment Promotion Service of the SAE in Huelva, Pedro Ruiz Acevedo.
Márquez highlighted "Islantilla's commitment to the two municipalities that make it up, Isla Critina and Lepe, with the group of people with special abilities, as well as accessibility and the elimination of architectural barriers in our tourist destination." The President of the Commonwealth also recalled the involvement of local business with this cause, "especially highlighting the Hotel Ilunion Islantilla, which opened its doors as Confortel Islantilla and has always stood out for its preferential attention to this profile of tourists who visit us with the confidence of finding in our enclave a space adapted to their needs ".
After welcoming the attendees, an initiative has been launched that is part of the Empower Youth Without Limits Project, which consists of meetings, work tables, activities such as accessible catamaran rides, dialogues between young people with disabilities and responsible people. politicians, among others. In turn, these days are integrated into the Erasmus + Program of the European Union.
Among the highlights of these days it is worth mentioning that the Organization has designed a program of parallel activities that includes the practice of catamaran courses for people with reduced mobility, unprecedented action that has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the EEV- Spanish School of Sailing of Islantilla, and that will allow that these young people can tomorrow enjoy a sports activity that usually is not accessible for them.
Through these days it will be possible to assess the conditions of accessibility to the labor market with information provided directly by the affected people, in order to prepare a roadmap that can be implemented in the Public Administration and in private business initiatives to improve these conditions.
